Con questa guida scritta da Ghish di WiiSoft oggi potremo far avviare al boot del Wii, quindi senza passare dal menu di sistema o dall’ Homebrew Channel, il nostro Usb Loader preferito.
Tutto quello che ci serve lo troviamo in questo archivio (password per il download: ilarialab)
Non resta che iniziare.
Passo 1: Installazione Preloader
Iniziamo con l’ installare il Preloader, che oltre ad essere uno strumento utilizzato per risolvere casi di brick può essere utilizzato per modificare alcune impostazioni di sistema. Andiamo quindi nell’ Homebrew Channel e avviamo il Preloader Installer, premiamo il tasto 1 del nostro wiimote e attendiamo. Alla fine dell’ installazione ci troveremo nel menù del Preloader, se così non fosse, spegnete la wii, riaccendetela e subito dopo tenete premuto il tasto reset, fino ad avere accesso allo stesso.
Passo 2: Installazione cIOSCORP
Per tutti quelli che non hanno tutti i cios customizzati, compreso il 60 utilizzato dal preloader, consiglio l’ installazione tramite il cIOSCORP installer. Questo HB è una vera manna dal cielo, sopratutto per gli utenti che non hanno a disposizione una connessione wi-fi. Ritorniamo quindi nell’ homebrew channel e avviamo l’ utily. Partirà subito l’ installazione. Attendiamo quindi la fine dell’ installazione e riavviamo la console, se non lo fa da se.
Passo 3: Configurazione Preloader.
Al riavvio molti avranno una sopresa, la wii ci informa che abbiamo brikkato. Il passo sucessivo quindi è configurare l’ usb loader, consigliato anche a chi nel mentre non ha perso il suo naturale colore del viso. spegniamo e riaccendiamo la console tenendo premuto reset e con le frecce del wiimote spostiamoci sull’ opzione Systemmenu Hacks. Settiamo le seguenti impostazioni come nello screenshot seguente.
Salviamo il tutto e premiamo il tasto B del nostro wiimote per tornare al menù del preloader. Andiamo quindi su settings e impostiamo come nello screenshot successivo, per l’ autoboot però selezioniamo file.
Passo 4: Installare il fowarder o l’ usb loader.
Tornati nel menù del Preloader, premiamo il tasto A del nostro wiimote sulla voce Load/Install File, avremo accesso alla lista degli eseguibili nella root della nostra sd. Nell’ archivio abbiamo 3 file, usbloadergx.dol è l’ eseguibile dell’ Usb Loader Gx, wiiflow.dol è l’ eseguibile del Wiiflow, un usb loader dall’ interfaccia simile all’ itunes, e il terzo è usbloadergxlink.dol, un collegamento all’ Usb loader Gx che teniamo nella cartella apps della nostra root. Scelto l’ eseguibile, selezioniamolo e premiamo il tasto A per confermare. Fatto questo riavviamo ed il gioco è fatto!
FAQ:
1) D: Posso fare a meno della sd?
R: Si, ma solo se non decidi di utilizzare il usbloadergxlink.dol, naturalmente però tutti i settaggi e le copertine dei loader non saranno caricati.
2) D: Devo quindi tenere le cartelle utilizzate dal loader che scelgo?
R: Si, e ti consiglio inoltre di lasciare anche il loader nella cartella apps perchè può sempre servire.
3) D: Seguendo questa guida, posso comunque utilizzare i miei giochi in dvd o gli altri canali wad?
R: Certo, basta che all’ accensione tieni premuto il tasto reset e selezioni Systemmenu.
4) D: E per avviare le mie copie di backup da dvd?
R: Segui la stessa procedura spiegata prima per raggiungere il menù della wii e avvia il backup. Con i settaggi di questa guida potrai inoltre avviare giochi e canali di qulunque regione senza problemi di brick.
5) D: E se dovesse uscire un aggiornamento?
R: Non aggiornare subito, aspetta prima che qualcuno customizzi i nuovi aggiornamenti.

Il sistema Windows offre alcune opzioni per mostrare cosa ha fatto un utente recentemente. Le informazioni possono essere trovate nei file temporanei, time stamps, nelle history, nei log, o nel registro di sistema. Ovviamente queste sono informazioni difficilmente trovabili per un utente medio.
La MUI Cache è una cache speciale che contiene informazioni sui programmi aperti in Windows di recente.
Mui Cache View è una piccola applicazione che mostra il contenuto di questa cache. E’ compatibile con tutti i sistemi windows, e, cosa molto importante, permette di cancellare il contenuto della suddetta cache.
Per i più curiosi le informazioni della MUI Cache si trovano in:
per i sistemi Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003.

Knights onrush è un gioco per iPhone particolarmente divertente. Se amate il genere “tower defence”, questo gioco non vi deluderà. Infatti si tratta di una particolare rivisita di questo genere. Il vostro scopo è difendere le mura del vostro castello dall’ondata di attacchi di cavalieri che tenteranno di entrare in tutti i modi. La cosa divertente è che anche voi potrete liberarvi di loro in tutti i modi 
Quello che dovete fare infatti è lanciare con il vostro dito i cavalieri più lontano possibile dal vostro castello. I malcapitati cosi, ricadranno a terra con tanto di animazione “splatter”!
I vostri antagonisti saranno di vario genere, dal cavaliere a cavallo con lancia alla sentinella mimetica, ci sarà il cavaliere nero cosi come le balestre giganti o le catapulte. Tutti loro hanno diverse modalità per essere sconfitti, alcuni conviene lanciarli, altri meglio farli cadere (magari esplodono e vi rendono il lavoro più facile con chi gli sta intorno).
Anche voi però avrete a disposizione diverse armi, e potrete rinforzarvi ad ogni turno con nuove armi e portoni più resistenti. Per difendervi potrete fare affidamento su cannoni, palle di fuoco o massi di roccia da scagliare contro i vostri aggressori. Ma la cosa interessante rimane senza dubbio la possibilità di sacrificare chi vi attacca nel pozzo dell’inferno o al grande drago, questo vi garantirà punti “mana” necessari per acquistare armi magiche più potenti.
Sicuramente un ottimo gioco davvero divertente, con una grafica cartoon di ottimo livello che vi farà fare qualche risata anche grazie ai divertentissimi effetti sonori. Fa un ottimo uso del multytouch, cosa che vi farà fare ottima figura del vostro melafonino con i vostri amici.

Tutti voi conoscete i sistemi OCR vero?
Optical Character Recognition (riconoscimento ottico dei caratteri) ossia programmi per la conversione di un’immagine contenente testo, in testo digitale modificabile con un normale editor.
Se avete un immagine o un file PDF contenente testo e volete convertila in testo modificabile con i comuni programmi di scrittura, Free-OCR fa al caso vostro.
Abbiamo già visto alcuni servizi per convertire file PDF in DOC, ma qui parliamo di altro. Se infatti dobbamo estrarre del testo contenuto in un immagine (l’immagine potrebbe essere contenuta anche in un file PDF) i servizi di conversione file tradizionali non funzionano.
In questi casi infatti si utilizzano i software OCR, di riconoscimento ottico dei caratteri. Free-OCR però fa tutto questo per noi, online.
Basta cliccare su browse e scegliere il file da caricare, cliccare su “Send file” e in pochi secondi verrà visualizzato il testo contenuto nell’immagine.

For past couple of months I have been working on a new WordPress SEO plugin, trying to continue the long tradition of my SEO plugins like SEO Friendly Images and SEO Smart Links.
The plugin works around the idea of putting blog comments on “steroids”, and basically using them to super charge your blog’s SEO. And with the recently announced change in Google’s way of treating nofollow links and the intrigue it brought up, the whole concept just got a new kick.
And the actual idea is quite simple. Bear with me.
Concept behind SEO Super Comments
For each user comment we will create a new dynamic page on the blog, holding the actual comment information. This page will not actually exist in WordPress database, but we will create it dynamically using a WordPress plugin.
What we instantly get in this way is big jump in site’s index visible to search engines. This is possible because blog comments are crawl-able, index-able and most importantly rank-able content. Also meaning you will start to get search engine traffic for the context of the comment.
The old author link in the comments will now lead to the newly generated page. Author’s URL will still be displayed (and we can do-follow it now as it will be only one external link on the page).
The concept relies around optimizing the target page using title and H1 tag using the context of the comment. So basically we will take the excerpt of the comment and use it to create the page title and H1 tag and in the body we will old the content of the comment (plus some more goodies, read on).
Since now all comments normally drain page rank even when nofollowed (bad for your site) the whole idea of using them to generate links back to your site instead and get free indexable content along the way, looks just much more appealing.
To spice things up, the dynamic comment page concept additionally features:
- List of author’s other comments on the post are presented (good value for the visitor, more content)
- List of author’s other comments on the blog (even more content, chance to interlink to your other posts, more value to the visitor)
- Author url links are do-followed (option, but why not?)
- Extra few clicks generated will increase your pageviews, lower the bounce rate and increase any CPM advertsing revenue
- I have also created a mod for hugely popular XML sitemaps plugin to include all the new dynamic comment pages into your sitemap, so that the search engines can index the pages more quickly.
Preliminary results of the SEO Super Comments concept testing
In best tradition of ‘eating one’s own dog food‘ I have decided to test the concept and the plugin on my own site.
Two days ago I installed the plugin (no other changes are necessary to the blog, everything is automatic).
There were couple of things that I noticed:
- Google seems to have liked it very much. It ’swallowed’ around 1,500 comment pages in the first day (gulp!)
- Search engine traffic to the new pages started coming the very first day as the graph below shows (I created a segment in Google Analytics to filter out traffic to comment pages; learn how to do that here)

The gain in index size for the site is massive. Although my site has only 290 posts, I do have over 6,000 comments which all are indexable separately now as pages.
The user experience is enhanced because I am able to see other comments by the same user across the topic or the entire site by clicking their name. Here is an example.
All users can get dofollow links back to their site as well as there is now only one external link on the page (this is of course at the discretion of webmaster).
The best of all, this new traffic is primarily for long tail phrases.
The users of search engines are getting more savvy and increasingly using long tail searches (I’ve seen a Google’s chart showing 45% of all search is long tail currently).
The comment pages immediately started ranking on page 1 of search results for a huge number of phrases as the landing keywords from my test illustrate below.

Conclusion
If your site has a lot of comments, think of them about one big resource capable of generating free search traffic. This is what SEO Super Comments concept is about. Oh, and it deals with the recently announced nofollow behavior quite well.
I hope to tweak and finish the plugin in next few days, incorporating few more ideas I have. I acknowledge that usability can still be improved, remember this is just an SEO concept.

Come promesso nella guida precedente per lo sblocco del Nintendo Wii con firmware 4.0E ecco il modo per caricare i giochi direttamente da dispositivi USB (chiavette e Hard Disk esterni) o memorie SD, in modo da non dover masterizzare una marea di DvD.
Seguite questi semplici passi:
Nota: vi consiglio di verificare la compatibilità della vostra chiavetta o Hard Disk USB prima di iniziare… potete dare un occhiata a questo indirizzo oppure cercare in rete… su alcuni forum, molti utenti segnalano le compatibilità o meno dei loro dispositivi.
Noi abbiamo utilizzato un HD 2.5″ WD Passport Essential da 320 gb.
Iniziamo!
Scaricate questo archivio (password: ilarialab), decomprimetelo e copiate il contenuto della cartella ROOT, nella root della vostra memoria SD e il contenuto della cartella APPS, all’interno della cartella APPS della vostra SD.
Scaricate WBFS Manager cliccando qui… scegliete tra la versione 3.0 o 3.0.1, entrambe disponibili nella versione compatibile per i sistemi operativi Windows a 32bit (x86) e 64bit (x64).
Installate ed avviate il WBFS Maneger. Selezionate ora la lettera associata al vostro dispositivo USB su “Periferica:” e successivamente cliccate sul bottone evidenziato in rosso “Formatta” per formattate con il formato WBFS (questo formato non è riconosciuto dai vari sistemi operativi… per questo le operazioni su queste partizioni le effettueremo sempre tramite WBFS Manager).
A questo punto possiamo iniziare a caricare le nostre iso dei giochi per wii sul dispositivo USB utilizzando sempre il WBFS Manager:
Cliccate sul bottone “Carica” del WBFS e trascinate il gioco dentro “Giochi da aggiungere alla periferica WBFS” e attendete il termine del processo…
Adesso cliccate sul bottone in basso “Aggiungi a Disco” per aggiungere il Gioco alla periferica WBFS.
Nota: come dicevo sopra il formato WBFS non è riconosciuto dal sistema operativo… quindi ogni volta che inserite la periferica USB… Windows vi chiederà di formattare il dispositivo… NON FATELO! altrimenti perderete tutti i giochi.
Una volta che avete aggiunto i giochi alla periferica potete collegate il dispositivo ad una delle 2 porte USB della Wii.
Avviate HomeBrew Channel e cercate tra i programmi SDUSB Loader… caricatelo, selezionate “USB Mass Storage Device” e visualizzerete la lista dei giochi presenti.
Nell’HomeBrew Channel, troverete anche USB Loader GX e WIIFLOW (quest’ultimo dotato di una bellissima interfaccia in stile Mac Os X)… anch’essi servono per l’avvio dei giochi wii da USB, ma con grafica più curata rispetto al classico USB Launcher. Potrete anche scaricare le copertine drettamente dalla Wii, sfruttando la connessione Internet.
Un ringraziamento speciale a Ghish per averci aiutato a reperire questi due bellissimi Launcher alternativi.
Sempre nell’HomeBrew Channel troverete il cIOS_rev13b… Se volete potete installarlo, oppure scegliere di tenervi il cIOS che già avete.
Se desiderate aggiornare al REV13b, avviate l’installazione e selezionare la modalità Network Installation. C’è da dire però che abbiamo riscontrato qualche problema con questo cIOS (anche se non siamo sicuri che dipenda dal CIOS, dal modello di HD o dalle versioni dei Launcher)… infatti quando tentiamo l’avvio di un gioco da USB (con qualsiasi Launcher), spesso e volentieri, il primo tentativo si pianta sulla schermata nera. Riavviando la WII e facendo il 2° tentativo, il gioco si avvia normalmente. Ora proveremo a tornare al cIOS_rev10, per assicurarci se il problema sia causato effetivamente del CIOS… vi terremo informati!

E’ stato finalmente rilasciato per il download la nuova versione di Firefox, arrivato alla 3.5. Molte delle novità sono “under the hood”, e non sono visibili a prima vista. La nuova release infatti è il più grande aggiornamento dal rilascio della versione 3, ma non un nuovo browser. Novità dopo il salto
Di seguito le novità introdotte:
- Disponibile in più di 70 lingue
- Supporto per i tag HTML5 <video> e <audio> e supporto nativo per i video Ogg Theora e audio Vorbis
- Migliorati i strumenti per la gestione dei dati privati, inclusa una modalità di navigazione “privata”
- Performance delle web applications migliorate grazie al motore Javascript TraceMonkey
- Inclusa la possibilità di condividere la posizione dei propri siti web utilizzando Location Aware Browsing
- Supporto nativo per JSON, e web worker threads
- Miglioramenti al Gecko layout engine, incluso il speculative parsing per una migliore lettura dei contenuti
- Supporto per le nuove tecnologie come: font scaricabili, CSS media queries, nuove trasformazioni e proprietà, JavaScript query selectors, lo storage locale di HTML5 e storage offline delle applicazioni, <canvas> text, ICC profiles, e SVG
Vi sono anche alcune novità sull’interfaccia, come l’aggiunta di un tasto “+” nelle tabelle, e la diversificazione per colori nel campo degli URL.
Attenzione inoltre che molti plugin ancora non sono compatibili, saranno con tutta probabilità aggiornati a breve. Già si fa sentire la mancanza di Web Developer

In italia Twitter non è sicuramente il social network più utilizzato. Molti mi chiedono a cosa possa servire, non ne vedono l’utilità quando c’è Facebook che permette quasi la stessa cosa. “Quasi” appunto. La differenza principale, è che con Twitter i nostri messaggi veloci sono indirizzati a tutti gli utenti e non solo ai nostri amici. In tempo reale si riesce a fare dell’informazione veloce, ne abbiamo visto le sorprendenti capacità con gli ultimi tragici avvenimenti in Iran. Ad ogni avvenimento, migliaia di persone postavano messaggi veloci e grazie ai trend, abbiamo potuto sapere cosa stava realmente succedendo. Facebook al contrario di Twitter, permette di rimanere a contatto solo con i nostri amici, ci permette quindi di “cinguettare” esclusivamente con loro. Per farvi capire meglio l’utilità di questo social network, vi consiglio il video dei ragazzi di CommonCraft che spiega in modo facile e con pochi minuti, come Twitter può esserci d’aiuto sia per rimanere informati, sia per fare informazione sul nostro brand o business. Il video è in inglese.
Twitter come accennato è decisametne utile anche dal punto di vista del marketing. Lo si può usare come mezzo di comunicazione con i clienti, sicuramente vi sarà utile il video, tradotto e sottotitolato in italiano da ICTV, che spiega come usare Twitter per il business.
